How it works
How we build (and check)
the directory.
Anyone can scrape Google Maps for anything tagged "yoga" or "dance" and call it a directory. We don't think that's good enough — here's exactly what happens between a studio existing and a studio showing up on Seek Dance.
- 01
Source real business listings
We start from real Google Business listings — every state, every city we can find a yoga, pilates or dance studio in.
- 02
Confirm it's actually relevant
A search for “yoga near me” surfaces plenty of gyms and wellness centres that aren't yoga studios. Every listing is checked against its real Google category and its own name and tags before it's accepted — not just whatever a keyword search happened to return.
- 03
Confirm it's still open
Studios close, move and change numbers constantly. Listings that show clear signs of being permanently closed or duplicated are dropped before publishing.
- 04
Normalize the details
Address, phone number, opening hours and styles taught are cleaned into one consistent format, so a listing in Kuching reads the same way as one in Kuala Lumpur.
- 05
Re-check and accept corrections
The directory gets re-verified as it grows, and studio owners can send corrections directly — see List with us.
What we don't do
No pay-for-placement
Rankings and featured spots come from real Google ratings and review counts. A studio cannot buy a better position.
No invented specifics
If we don't have real data on a studio's classes, pricing or amenities, we don't guess. A listing says less rather than something that isn't true.
No fake reviews
Every rating and review count shown is pulled directly from the studio's own Google Business profile — never written by us.
